Global Autocoat Training
Global Automotive Training Centre (GATC) located at Global Autocoat’s distribution facility was completed in 2011. The million-dollar purpose-built centre is equipped with state of the art equipment, tools and layout, the centre also boasts two training rooms, 400m2 of practical areas, two spray booths, one down draft and one down draft with GAS IR Arch, 2 mixing rooms, two dry sanding floors and an adjoining colour study. The facility also has a functional production planning room.
The focus of the course offerings are on the skills required throughout the repair process. These include:
- Getting the job done right the first time.
- Efficient handling of paint process.
- Selecting the optimal system for each repair and colour matching with a minimum of time and wastage.
- Analysing the repair process and organising it in an efficient manner.
- Selecting and handling application materials to achieve the best results.
Global Autocoat Traning Centre in conjunction with Axatla Coatings & Spies Hecker offers an extensive range of quality training seminars. These workshops are prepared and coordinated by Spies Hecker personnel who are nationally accredited workplace Assessors and Trainers, and have vast experience with Spies Hecker product and procedures.
Refinish paint technology now and in the future will require the use of high performance products including the latest water-based and High-Solids systems. The need for training in the use of Spies Hecker high performance products and warranty repair processes is essential for the success of any bodyshop. Seminars are held at our purpose built facility in Bentley Perth Western Australia.
In a modern comfortable and well equipped environment, students have access to the latest products which include Waterborne, infra-red technology, and the latest in Spies Hecker High Performance VR paint products.
Both theoretical seminars and practical workshops are catered for the in Regional Training Centre, which is equipped with a conference room, fully extracted spray booth and a state of the art colour mixing room.
The Centre is a visible example of Global Autocoat’s commitment to the refinish industry and to the provision of first class training programs for both bodyshop staff and management.

Our Technical Team are fully trained across all paint brands and major ancillary supplier’s product ranges. They perform installations alongside our paint partners and then support and manage our customers technical needs post installation on an ongoing basis. All visits are recorded and training documents completed are logged for activities and action points to be followed up.
The Technicians can provide detailed audits, covering all aspects of the repair process. Ongoing recommendations and subsequent training programmes are written for customers and form the basis of a structured plan to impact on the efficiencies, throughput and bottom line profit of the bodyshop.
Structured training programmes are introduced in conjunction with the Paint Company Technician and dry goods manufacturers. Individually written product profiles are tailored to meet the customer needs and the TSR acts in a supplier co-ordination role, overseeing the training programmes.
